Alola maps: common questions
- Which Pokémon games are set in Alola?
- 4 games are set in Alola: Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon. Each one draws the region differently, so the map you want is the one for the game you are playing.
- Is the Alola map the same in every game?
- No. Alola is redrawn every generation, and the wild Pokémon, items and trainers change with it. That is why every game here has its own map rather than sharing one picture with notes attached.
- How many places are there in Alola?
- 41 distinct towns, routes, caves and buildings across the 4 games. All of them are clickable, with their wild Pokémon, items and trainers already marked.
- Do Sun and Moon have different maps?
- The islands are drawn the same, but the wild Pokémon are not: several are exclusive to one version, and Sun and Moon swap which Pokémon appear by day and by night. Each game is listed separately here for that reason.
- Which Alola map should I use?
- Use the one for the game you are playing. If you only want to look at the region, the map at the top of this page is Pokémon Sun, which is the version most people are searching for.
